Last Chance to Apply: Taiwan Fellowships

The Taiwan Fellowship was established by the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for foreign experts and scholars interested in research related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, Asia-Pacific region and Chinese studies. The fellowship scheme enables successful applicants to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.

This is an annual scheme (so if you miss this year, there is likely to be another chance next year) and, perhaps unusually, is specifically aimed at researchers specialising in humanities or social sciences.

There is an online application form which seems relatively straightforward to complete.  Costs covered include monthly grants and one round-trip, economy-class ticket to Taiwan.  The terms are three to 12 months.

Closing date for applications is: 15th July 2012
