The AHRC and Indian Council for Historical Research (ICHR) have announced a new joint funding opportunity that will bring together researchers from the UK and India on the theme of ‘Cultural Heritage and Rapid Urbanisation’.
Funding is available from the AHRC and ICHR to support collaborative research networks which focus on one of the following themes:
- Urbanisation and History
- Public Spaces and Urban Planning
- Digitisation of Heritage and Urban Processes
- Architectural History and the Conservation of Built Heritage
- Urbanisation and Intangible Heritage
These themes were identified at a workshop held in Delhi in March 2015. The awards will be funded through the Newton Fund – a 5 year programme that aims to strengthen research and innovation partnerships between the UK and emerging knowledge economies.
Projects should be up to 6 months in duration and it is expected that 4- 5 awards will be supported. The closing date for applications is 22 September 2015.
