Following the success of the previous rounds of the Digging into Data challenge (http://diggingintodata.org/), the AHRC is pleased to invite proposals to round four of the challenge. Details of round four of the Digging into Data challenge supported by the Trans-Atlantic Platform can be found here: http://diggingintodata.org/awards/2016/news/announcing-t-ap-digging-data-challenge-2016
The T-AP Digging into Data Challenge is open to any project that addresses research questions in the humanities and/or social sciences which uses large-scale digital data analysis techniques and shows how these new techniques can lead to new theoretical insights. It is specifically aiming to advance multidisciplinary collaborative projects in digital scholarship that seek new perspectives and insights. Proposals may address any research question in the humanities and/or social sciences, utilising any data source to do so. Projects must involve at least three eligible research teams from at least three participating T-AP Digging into Data countries. The full list of participating countries and full details of the requirements and eligibility requirements can be found in the Request for Proposals here: http://diggingintodata.org/about/application-materials.
The AHRC is particularly keen to invite proposals that address research questions within the humanities portion of its remit: http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/funding/research/subjectcoverage/
Further details regarding the UK’s funding requirements can be found here via downloadable documents: http://diggingintodata.org/file/801/download?token=8L_NZqIZ.
As the proposal must involve at least three partners from at least three participating countries, we urge you to allow plenty of time to apply as each partner must complete an individual budget and justification of resources, as well as several joint documents from all proposed partners. The closing date for applications is 29th June 2016.
